Gains were low this week for most gubernatorial candidates. Only three candidates broke double digits in new followers. Democrats Steve Rowe and Rosa Scarcelli posted the biggest gains. They are still far behind Republican Matt Jacobson in number of followers. Jacobson still dominates the field in number of followers with no clear challenger in sight yet.

This week saw some of the most interaction between candidates and Tweeters yet. A comment by Matt Jacobson concerning his position on Question 1 sparked a large debate. Jacobson engaged in discussion on the heated issue. He did his best to his position intelligently within the 140 character limit. Jacobson displayed possibly the best interaction of a Maine politician and users on Twitter to date. He showed that the medium really can lead to meaningful dialogs. Pine Tree Politics and Mike Desjardins both covered this issue extensively already.
