Overall, independent Alex Hammer remains in the lead, although impressively Republican Matt Jacobson is ahead in total followers.

  1. Okay, fair enough – I didn’t mean to make you mad, it just didn’t make sense to me. Its a cool list, I just assumed you were going on followers.

    Could you perhaps let us in on how you determine the “overall” winner? Not really interesting in disputing it, I’m just curious what formula you are using.

    We did revise this post to remove the criticism, it was a fair point.

    No real formula, we’re just looking overall at all three factors – Followers, Followed, and number of Tweets. We think having 10,000 followers isn’t very impressive if you only have 10 Tweets, for example.

    In the coming days, probably next weekend after Update 5, we’ll post a graph of the candidate’s growth over time on Twitter, to show how they’re doing.
